Snacks are one thing our kids genuinely enjoy and have a hard time not having. Call it a habit or maybe they’re just growing kids looking for fuel. But one of their favorites was Cheezits. Unfortunately those, like pretty much anything in a box, are super high in carbs. I experimented a bit with various slices of cheese and this one that fills the gap splendidly. Low and slow plus the thickness of the slices made the perfect combination.
Software
- Sargento Sharp Cheddar, ULTRA THIN slices (a whole package)
- Pinch of salt
Hardware
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Pizza cutter
Application
- Preheat oven to 250F.
- Lay a single layer of parchment paper on the baking tray.
- Spread out enough slices of cheese to loosely cover the tray. (We’ll be spreading them out in a second.) Mine held about six.
- Using the pizza cutter, quarter each slice and spread them out to evenly cover the baking tray.
- Sprinkle a few specks of salt on each one.
- Bake at 250 for about 35 minutes. Low and slow is the key with these or they ooze all over the place or burn.
